Plant score

I love a good bargain and plant bargains are my total favourite! Today’s score is two coffee plants and two Irish strawberry trees all for $16!!! I am so excited. How did I get them so cheap? I bought them out of the bargain bin yep they are frost bitten and look a little worse for wear but I’m sure some TLC and a good home and they’ll come right (I hope). Actually I don’t think I’ve paid full price for any of my fruit trees or plants except for my Omega plum since I really wanted one and had to search for it. Bargain bins, friends gardens, online garden forums, online stores and fairs are great ways to pick up cheap and unusual plants. Oh I love a good deal. Makes my Dutch genes very happy.

We call it the scratch and dent corner, my mother calls it the second hand corner (unfortunate when she goes to the local market and says she is off to the second hand cheese stall). However, my favourite is the condemned corner. I have a friend who husband announces very loudly that he will meet his wife at the condemned food counter!

I think most of our house and garden came from the scratch and dent corner 🙂
