Cleaning toilets naturally

Cleaning toilets what fun. Not. Cleaning toilets can be a very chemical laden process but it really doesn’t need to be. When I saw Wendyl Nissen speak the other day she talked about cleaning your toilet quickly, easily and even better naturally.

Here’s the recipe;
1 cup baking soda
1 cup vinegar
Pour the baking soda into the toilet then pour in the vinegar. Leave for 10 minutes or more then give the toilet a clean with the brush and flush.

This is great fun (and safe) to do with your kids as the reaction of these two together is great fun.
This worked well for one of my toilets but for some reason the laundry toilet always has yellow stains in it; which is very strange as both toilets are new.

So today I decided to step it up a little
1 cup washing soda/ soda ash
1 cup vinegar
Pour the washing soda into the toilet then pour in the vinegar. Leave for 10 minutes or more then give the toilet a clean with the brush and flush.

I can’t believe that the washing soda was able to get rid of the yellow staining. I’d tried most things to remove it but wow the washing soda worked a treat. I then wipe down the rest of the toilet with a damp cloth with tea tree oil on it. No more buying any type of toilet chemicals or any expensive products ever again.

    Great! I live in rural France and have a fosse and not mains drainage so am always careful to use the minimum of chemicals.

      Always a good idea to get rid of chemicals from your life. Not to mention the money you’ll save Mx
