Splashed out yesterday and bought us a Bay Laurel tree, some snow peas and butter beans, some more silverbeet and two more chive plants. Had a super busy day in the garden today clearing an area to plant my new yummies. Large sections of our garden are covered in weeds + pebbles + weed matting = hard work to get garden ready for planting. We moved into our place two years ago and haven’t really touched the garden apart from pruning and general tidying. The garden has been left to its own devices and so the weeds have got a little keen. I’m not really much of a gardener but that doesn’t seem to have affected the wonderful garden we’ve been eating from all winter.

ReplyDeleteP.s super jealous if your fab garden, I've wanted one for years now but s certain someone won't build me one (and move the back fence so the dog can't reach the "imaginary garden" and plant his bones!
Thanks sweets, yeah sometimes you have to just do things yourself. Sounds a bit more complicated with a dog. You will get there. I started in large pots so you could do that too to get some veggies growing as well. Or hanging baskets are great too I'm going to do that as well. Or you could hang pots on the wall out fo the way of puppy? Let me know what you come up with. M xx
ReplyDeleteI have dogs in my yard too. I enclosed a small plot next to my house with big plastic bins, using the house wall as one side. Dirt in the bins and planted stuff, and trellised plants inside the barrier, so they'd grow UP and not be shaded by the bins. (Potatoes do well inside the bins.)
